“Thanks to everyone who tried to help us out with phone numbers so we could get ourselves out of this mess!! We’re on our way back and everything’s fine—it’s all part of the game, as they say!! Special thanks to the two paramedics at the rest stop for coming to pick me up! As for the Chibougamau and La Doré clubs, your proactive response is pathetic (one of them replied… “you just have to hop on the same snowmobile and ride down to town”)—well, yeah, we were both stuck in water up to our butts, we were freezing, and our boots were full of water???? And then the Chibougamau police—well, they weren’t any better either!! I’m going to make a few calls tomorrow—this isn’t going to end here! It could have ended badly, but thanks to the Facebook community, a Good Samaritan came with a friend to rescue us and pull the snowmobile out. Thanks to Francis and Mathieu!!!”
