Jackstraw
Day1 After a rough drive up in freezing rain from Montreal to shawinigan checked in to the Marineau hotel. Saddled up in the morning under cloudy skies with the destination Fer Chavel. Took the river up to the 360 in matawin. Plenty of snow. Tq23 freshly groomed river up not bad some big drifts. Saw Eric grab about 5sec of air time off of one. Thought that was gonna be ugly but held onLOL! 360 to m20 to 345 into Repos all stellar! Got there at 11:30 packed huge gas line. Fueled up to crowded to eat on to Mnawan for lunch. The 33 between Repos and Manawan was whooped. 33 after Manawan beautiful all the way to Fer Cheval. In for the evening 254 miles. No trailside repairs or maintenance thus far, hopefully we accomplished that last trip. The 1200's are purring like kittens! On to ValDor Tomorrow iceman, Florida Snowman and mikerider

There is nothing there For the same reason they rerouted 63 down through La Verendrye Lodge, revenue from sledders. People often bypassed these stops. Both loops in are easily avoided still with shortcuts. Last week we opted for fuel in Manawan (gas station) prices verses outfitter pricing and skipped Repo's and Mario's to run to the pumps in Parent 147mi. Jackstraw
Day2 Super dinner last night at Cheval, probably one of the best filet mingion ive had up here. Up at 6 breakfast at 7 on the trail at 8 tq13 up to the 83 towards Clova all sweet! Arrived at clova 11am fueled up took an early lunch. Started snowing hard and super windy. Passed 4 sleds. Train came in and picked up 5 or 6 people, is anyone left in town? Jumped back on the 83 to Lac Fallon for fuel. Was worried about the snow and high winds in the burnt section. Was great to see the forest regrowing giving you a tree line on the trail again. Been a few years since I had been through there. What a difference. Saw a burnt up Yamaha in the trail, still smoldering, maybe Bill is on to something with the fire extinguisher! Took the orange trail down to Louvicourt, very light rain at this point at least not freezing. That trail sucked, logging and pretty whoppped. Fuel in louvicourt and back on the 83 to valdor at the forestal for the night. 289 miles. Was thinking of dropping down the 309 to villa Marie in the morning. If anyone knows the conditions that way please chime in. Otherwise west then north towards la sarre. So far no shortage of snow anywhere we have been. Till tomorrow! snowmaster2112
jack I wouldn't even think of heading towards Ville Marie, go to Lasarre area. Rode Thursday from Rouyn down to near there and over to Belleterre for the night and it was a "scratchy" ride at best Even from Belleterre to Lac Truite on Friday was almost no lube. Much better after that all the way to LeDomaine Matagami and Lasarre area were the best on our trip especially the trails north of LeSarre like Normetal and Vilboise area safe travels to you Edited February 26, 2018 by snowmaster2112 Jackstraw
Teet F8SP
They do look like cat skis... Looks like the exhaust of a 4 stroke... Must be a pantera or some kind of touring 7000 model because they are touring running boards. They do not look like the arctic cat team clutches so it could be a model that is older than '17 because the 17 and newer had the new style team clutches. Sucks either way, saw a Polaris on fire two weeks ago and it went up FAST! Edited February 26, 2018 by Teet F8SP
Jackstraw
Day 3 the original plan was to head to villa Marie, then north to rouyn Noranda but wasn't sure on snow depth there so the plan was tq83 towards la sarre. Don't know if it was a good choice. First word that came to mind was Spanked! The pure anticipation of every turn to be greeted by an array of moguls, some big some small but all equally enjoyable! Into Rouyn Noranda for lunch which was a chore in itself. After circling the city looking for a place to eat, which we found everything but that. Finally found quality inn la cage aux sports . After a $40 burger and beverage we where off! From there up to la sarre nice! thank god finally. Into villa mon repos for the night 198 miles. Warm temps and weekend traffic took its toll Scranton1

Jackstraw
Day4 Here we go, plan was to go to LSQ. Left la sarre tQ 93 freshly groomed, nice! First 20 miles anyway . After that still nice super soft warm temps.lunch at mont vidieo the ski area . Fuel up in Bairut and see if we can tighten up Eric’s track. Looks like the rear axle bolt loosened up or axle bearing may be kaput. Tightened up ok let’s go. Back on the 93 stop for a break. Ready to go my sled fires up and dies. Eric gone like the wind. Check all fuses no power jump the starter she’s turns over nothing, couple locals stopped and helped to no avail. Now Eric is back its3:30. Let’s hook it and go. 18 miles to Senneterre to the dealer at least the trails where flat, there in no time main 30 amp fuse from battery fried. Melted the connector. Quick fix and now it’s 4:30. Stay in Senneterre or head 70 miles to LSQ. Pulled up the the hotel as 8 other sleds pulled in, f it let’s go. Got to LSQ st 6:30, Saq closed, dam goto the hotel after fueling up only one room left. With only one small bed. 2 other places in town both full. We’ll take it. Gave us the key and a soup spoon for some reason tomorrow headed to chibougamau and misstissini for the night if nothing else breaks. Always an adventure! Jackstraw
Day 5 Todays plan was to head to chibougamau then up to misstissini for the night. Tq93 freshly groomed all the way. Rail bed exciting as usual. Pull into chapis st 1130 for lunch 140 miles. Check on the possibility of trekking up to misstissini, no good trail not open this year dam! Suns finally out warm temps, oh well. Deceided to check out some of the orange trail and check out the lodge st ouje bougoumou which was full. Tons of snow up here. Looks like winter with snow still on the trees. Played around there and the orange trail around chibougamau. Saw the trail to misstissini one sled track. Another time I guess. Into hotel chibougamau 203 miles. Is it a tradition here to be greeted by a stewed Indian evertime you come here? 2nd time here and both times greeted within the first 20 min. This women tripped over my ski and almost ripped my mirror off looking for a smoke. There’s a few more in the bar here! Tomorrow down towards LSJ.
