  3. Establish a permanent trail network. Yes, is easier said then done. But is the only real long term solution. Every journey starts with a single step.

Says delivery for winter 2025. Hmmm seems fast but we shall see. all depends where this bridge gets built. I had heard that it would join with TQ93 near La Dore. I heard this plan a few years ago.

  15. Thank all for the replies. I have been flying in/out of YQB for years and am aware of the process. 17 x 20 is plenty and thanks you Signman!! Staying for a month is an option and a good idea. I'll be in FL and they have flights to YQB daily with one stop, about 6 hours total. A farmer is a great idea. My French is OK enough for simple questions/answers. Best thing about a farm is it's safe and I imagine that they would pull the trailer out with a farm tractor if you let them know ahead of time. Shoveling would be a real bitch, LOL. As far as batteries go I would only leave them 2 weeks max so I think that they would be OK without a battery tender. Mikerider if you come up with some contacts I would greatly appreciate it! FloridaSnowMan in the past used a place near Trois Rivieres, I wonder if he is still around? Best and let's hope for a better 2025!! Fred

    Trailer/Sled storage

I have been trying to track down the same thing. The Fuel and time to drag the trailer from Mass to Quebec City is a waste. If we are in RDL for one trip and then Sag for another and even Three Rivers, its easier and quicker to park it in QC and pay ??? 100.00 a month or so.... I was checking out several places, UHaul storage ( 3-4 locations in the QC area ) use to do it, but no longer. I started looking at RV storage places, as the SnowBirds would be gone for the Winter and have the room at the lots. If you find something let us know. I'll try to remember the place that was looking promising. Later GutZ

  17. The solution can be as simple as, the government that is getting a huge economic benefit from the snowmobile business offer the effected private landowners a break in property taxes they pay. As for the Zec I believe they are crown land with private management rights, tell them to pound sand.

PAGE 3 - Since 2016, the Parc régional des Grandes-Rivières du lac Saint-Jean has set up a unique off-road tourist circuit in Quebec: La Passerelle du 49%. The 236 km route is located in the public forest north of Lac Saint-Jean and required the construction of nine footbridges and the development of several kilometers of trails, some of which were existing forest roads. The circuit is accredited within the national quad (FQCQ) and snowmobile (FCMQ) federations and includes numerous accommodation, catering and refueling services. Local quad and snowmobile clubs are essential partners ; - Integrating the territories of the MRCs of Domaine-du-Roy, Maria-Chapdelaine, Fjord-du-Saguenay and the Nord-du-Québec region, the footbridge over the Ashuapmushuan River opens up a territory several hundred kilometers long. 22. Yep. We use nothing but cordless on our commercial construction sites. Battery technology needs to improve again for transportation to be feasable. So does the charging network. That will be the biggest hurdle in remote areas.

  23. There will be a day that they will make sense, however technology has to improve....and it will. Remember when the first battery hand drills came out, look at them now. Who amongst us doesn't have a few Dewalt or Milwaukee tools?

    Over a Foot of Snow

The foot plus of heavy wet snow we received here in Southern Maine would have made a nice base, in January🙄🤪... I am very thankful that I installed a standby generator last year. Currently still close to 300,000 customers still without power state wide. Yesterday A friend asked me if I would be taking my machine out... My machine is going to be my Kubota Tractor with plow and front end loader. After the concrete snow on top soft gravel is dealt with, it's on to downed trees. 😀 Winter Storm 4 April 2024

    Trailer/Sled storage

I wonder if anyone can recommend a SAFE place where I can safely store my trailer/sleds (loaded) that is secure and no more then 45 minutes from YQB airport. I'm retiring and will be going back and forth next winter. I would leave a vehicle the airport. I'd need 24/7 access to this facility and likely would rent it form December through March. Any help would be greatly appreciated1 Fred

    Trailer/Sled storage

You are on the right track. Many places offer the outside storage in a secure enclosure. It just gonna need to take a bunch of calling and finding what works. As far as flying into Quebec airport…..from the USA there are Canada customs when you arrive. All flights to USA from Quebec airport go to Montreal or Toronto first to clear USA Customs before flying into USA.

  37. Certianly is the best long term sustainable option. However this is easiest on crown land, much more of a challenge on private. A trail system crossing a piece of private land could be considered a devaluing attribute.

It goes a little further if you stand on it. Then because of the altered angle caused by the rear Drop Brackets, I needed to add some kind of wheel. I found these bearings with a larger\thicker inside race allowing it to be a spacer and a wheel. They wont spin or be touched all the time only in particular situations. GRANDES-RIVIERES DULAC SAINT-JEAN PRESS RELEASE Parc régional des Grandes-Rivières du lac Saint-Jean announces the construction of a ninth footbridge and completes the off-road tourist circuit "La Passerelle du 49e") For immediate release NORMANDIN, April 15, 2024 - The Porc régional des Grandes Rivières du lac Saint-Jean is pleased to announce today a major project for tourism development in Seguenay Lac Scint-Jean: the construction of a footbridge for off-highway vehicles (OHVs) over the Ashugomussuan River, an investment of $3.9 million. The infrastructure, the ninth of its kind since 2016, will complete Quebec's most important off-road trail: the La Passerelle du 49e quad and snowmobile circuit, a nearly 250-kilometre route that highlights the great rivers of northern Lac Saint-Jean and the boreal forest. A true sustainable tourism initiative, the crcuit boosts the economy of local communities by confirming Saguenay Lac Saint-Jean as one of North America's premier snowmobiling destinations, and Lac-Saint-Jean as one of the world's best locations for ovenand adventure quad biking. Community economic revitalization and tourism development "The Parc régional des Grandes-Rivières du lac Saint leur is a major player in the development of tourism in the Roderval district. Complementing La Passerelle du 49-, this important initiative has all the potential to air visileuses and viiteus over four seasons. Our government is proud to have contributed, via the Société du Flan Nord, the Ministère des transports et de la Mobilité durable and the Fonds regions et ruaité, to the realization of this magnificent project," says Nancy Guillemette, MNA for Roberval. ita posserelle will ensure all the necessary connections to enable users to circulate smoothly throughout the Saguency-Lac-Saint-Jean region. I'm convinced that local quad and snowmobilers will enjoy using this new pass, and that many will choose to come to our region to explore the trails made available to them.

So basically on a good day ...under the right conditions...you might be able to make it from Cabannon to St Michelle...or half way back...I'm going to open a trail recovery and towing service and get paid to be on the trail..maybe the lynQ accessories will include a removable battery pack so you can carry a couple extra fuel cells

  48. Sacre-Coeur 1050 heures of grooming this season. about 300 more hours than last season. It looks like the end for us too, our surfacing operations are getting more and more complicated with the hot weather, we still managed to do approximately 1050 hours of surfacing, representing 300 hours more than last year. The road signs will be removed in the coming weeks. We would like to thank our owners for the rights of way and our 330 members for your encouragement and every visitor who takes the time to write to us after their stay to congratulate us. Your comments are always taken into account. We'll be making a final pass to the Valin mountains (c900) and the 330 region later this week.

  50. March 15 : Baie de Shawinigan That’s it! The season has officially begun for me! It was too much of a nice day to not enjoy the water. It was quite a workout to get to the water and come back but I managed. Had to slide with my board on the thin ice. My leg went right through as I was getting closer to the end, but fortunately I’m wearing a drysuit. It was cold though. I also wear my hypnose under it. Sadly, I noticed a dead deer floating on an ice flow, as I got closer seems like it had a front broken leg.
